Gosen Roots Mutlipurpose PEx8 Braided Line

Gosen set a goal with the development of the Roots PE 8 Braided Line; to create a trouble-free line, that users can use with confidence, based on the experience gained through the development and manufacturing at its own factory and knowledge gained by actual fishing tests.

Gosen follows a strict process in the development of braided lines with qualitative indicators that guide any control procedure.

• Fiber Selection & Processing Technology, in order to maximize the potential of materials: Gosen has evolved from a manufacturer that simply “assembles PE materials'', to a manufacturer that “strengthens PE materials”. The symbol for this unique technology, is the “GT Processing',' which maximizes the potential of the material and improves the strength and abrasion resistance of the PE line. In addition, by selecting and using the appropriate fibers for each size, Gosen was able to create the best balance, by selecting fibers that are resistant to friction and impact for thin sizes and flexible fibers, for the thicker sizes.
• The MPX & HDX Manufacturing Methods, reducing line troubles, due to high-density braiding. The difference between whether the fibers are braided finely, or coarsely is determined by a numerical value called "Braiding Pitch". When the pitch is coarsened, each fiber becomes straighter, which increases strength and sensitivity, but susceptible to friction and impact. In the Roots Braided lines, Gosen aims for the Braiding Pitch that has the lowest incidence of breakage for each size and produces a "trouble-free" line.
• Regarding the disadvantages of high-density pitch, such as reduced sensitivity and reduced strength, the HDX manufacturing method, which knits with increased tension, increases the adhesion between the raw fibers and reduces the elongation and loss of strength. Furthermore, by using the HDX manufacturing method to assemble PE fibers, the woven structure is more solid.
• PE braided line is a material that does not stain and can not be dyed. In order to add color, it is necessary to coat it with a resin mixed with pigments, which is extremely difficult to adhere. Non adherence can cause peeling and color fading problems. The so-called "X Resin" used in the Roots PE, is a special resin that has the highest adhesion to PE materials, among the various materials Gosen has tried, is abrasion resistant and has top class performance in both wet and dry methods. Furthermore, by applying a special silicone as a finishing material, it reduces discoloration and is also effective in reducing frictional heat that causes thread breakage.
• In order to further improve the quality of the Roots Braided Line, compared to conventional products, Gosen applied a special surface treatment to the braid before coating, to improve the adhesion between the coating and the fiber, resulting in a braid that is even more resistant to discoloration.

The Gosen Roots PE 8 has been designed for all in-shore and offshore anglers. It is a braided line offering the best balance. It is made in Japan, at Gosen’s factory, of high-strength polyethylene fibers, to achieve the best balance of strength, sensitivity, abrasion resistance and durability for each size.

It is available in multi-colored, 300m spools, that utilize a 5 color scheme:

• Every 10m (Purple, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Green)
• Black marking, every 5m
• White marking every meter
