Organic, solvent based thinner for alkyd, acrylic, polyurethane and vinyl paint systems, by NanoPhos company.

Solvents are used to dilute paints or wash paint tools after application. The use of solvents as diluents is necessary in order to reduce the viscosity of the paint and thus increase the rheology of the paint. It also offers increased life time in painting. The dilution of the colors should be done according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

A simple formula for everyday use states that:

  • Epoxy and one-component paints should not be diluted by more than 10%
  • Antifouling coatings should not be diluted, when applied with a roller or brush. For spray applications and in order for the material to flow properly, the advice of a specialized representative, or technician of the company is recommended
  • Topcoats are diluted up to 10%
