The newly designed body and sinker provide just the right amount of resistance, making it easy to maintain a fishing range. For example, sometimes we need a squid jig to cast further, so the manufacturer makes it a little heavier. However, by making it heavier, the fall happens too quickly. With the Peak, Daiwa made slight adjustments to the sinker and made them weigh the same, so that both rattle, and non-rattle fishing can be used in the same way.

The sinker is another area in which Daiwa paid attention. It's the sinker’s action, that produces the darting action and determines to a great extend, whether the lure will respond to the rod’s commands. It is the sinker that darts and faces the currents’ resistance, as it cuts through the water. So if you fish in an area with intensive currents, you might think that it would be easier to install a sinker that does not cause any water resistance.

But in this case, the Egi does not move and does not get attacked by squids, due to lack of action. For the Peak series, Daiwa uses a sinker that firmly catches the currents, so that it can be used in various fields, but at the same time helps the squid jig cast very far.
