Yamaga Blanks Calista Eging Re-Birth Series

The Egging rod series “Calista” has gone back to the drawing board, to be completed revamped by Yamaga Blanks with the latest, rod building technologies.

Since the release of the first Calista rod model in 2013 and through its history of updates, the light weightiness and easy handling, are two characteristics that have been appreciated by many anglers around the world. In 2023, Yamaga Blanks renewed the entire Calista Eging rods family, to incorporate the various Eging techniques and the improved skill of individual anglers. There is one simple reason why Yamaga-Blanks has proceeded to renew the series and this is none other than wanting anglers to hold the lightest, most responsive blank with great castability, with the current, given technologies in Japanese rod building. The new Calista series is proudly the crown of Yamaga Blank’s manufacturing expertise.

For the new Calista Eging rods, Yamaga-Blanks has utilized the latest carbon material, but also challenged the limits of blank structural design. All Calista models have been designed to enable Eging anglers reach very high levels of performance and present their techniques to the fullest.

The ability for long distance casting has been increased, thanks to the Fuji Torzite Titanium guides (SIC Titanium guide on the top guide only). The Blanks have been developed of Nanoalloy will bend for a moment, while the blank is loaded and will instantly return to its original state, thanks to the high repulsion force. There is a big deference between the new models and previous model in suppleness. Blanks with Nano alloy will enable anglers to jerk easily, with less power than with previous Eging models, while reducing burden of angler’s wrist. Because of this character, the angler will be able to jerk Egis sharply, with less strength than ever before and bring monster squid to the surface quickly, but more delicately, without losing any tentacles.

The tip section is highly sensitive, allowing high speed response and will diminish the chances of line tangle ups.

In the Calista 82ML, AR stands for All Rounder and this is the rod that will enable anglers to first handedly experience YB’s developmental concept. This is the search model, with the uniquely sensitive blank, to allow the angler feel the slightest touch of the squid, during the fall. This is a highly sensitive and flexible, long length Eging rod model, able to feel the squid jig even in areas with intensive currents. Yamaga Blanks has fused on bringing together a light tip section, with a medium class strength butt section, to realize an outstanding casting ability. Although the rod is a long length model, its exceptional balance will allow anglers to easily control the rod, to induce bite from squids, while the highly sensitive blank will transmit the slightest touch from the squid and feeling of currents. The long length will also come to an advantage not only when fishing in strong wind conditions, or fishing from high places in controlling the line.
