Shimano Game Type Light Jigging Rods

Light Jigging is a recent technique originating in Japan. It is a variant of regular jigging, but this category includes light vertical fishing where the jig is replaced by a small lure which often represents a kind of squid - the two most popular being Inchiku and Madai Jigs. A great thing about this technique is that it works all year long.

The Shimano Game Type Light Jigging rods, is a specifically designed light jigging range that has been developed for use with lightweight metal jigs, under 150 gr. It is much lighter than regular jigging rods and has a softer action.

Spiral-X and Hi-Power X have been applied to the blanks, in order to completely remove any twist under pressure and increase overall sensitivity. These rods offer stable handling and good control even during aggressive action jerkbait fishing.

The guides used in the Shimano Game Type Light Jigging rods are the lightest Titanium frame guides with SiC rings for the tip section. Shimano also installed stainless framed guides with SiC rings to increase the strength in the butt section, with CI4 material used in the reel seat, so the weight is reduced further.

The Shimano B632R is a baitcasting reel rod, designed for use with high performace metal jigs. This rod is most effective when targeting the most powerful fighting fish. The S632R model is not only for regular jerk bait fishing but also great and versatile for other jigging styles such as casting and retrieving at depth, or combining different retrieve rates.

Shimano Technologies

Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a blank made of vertical fibers, an inner layer, and an outer layer both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fiber sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fighting fish. Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano's Spiral X construction enhances anglers' "catching power."

In Hi-Power X construction, the blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of "X" shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.
