Shimano Butterfly Wing Jigs

The Shimano Butterfly Wing jigs are addressing the Slow Jigging enthusiasts and represent an improvement of the Butterfly Short jig series.

The particular jigs have been studied and tested to sink and reach the action zone faster, a feature that is helpful when fishing in high depths, or in areas with intense currents. Their design is the one that offers them the distinct sinking motion, capable of enticing even the most suspicious predator. The result is that the Butterfly Wing stays in the strike zone for longer and cause the interest even of weary prey. Their uniqueness is due to a combination of characteristics, such as their realistic image, intense motion, natural sinking, etc.

The Butterfly Wing jigs have a sharp sliding action, yet are fast on the descent. They are ideal for Slow Jigging and they can make sluggish fish react to their unique movement pattern. The Shimano Butterfly Wing are center weighed. On the one hand their shape is slightly oval, almost flat and on the other they have different inclined levels. This is called the Diamond Side & Smooth Side pattern.

Their profile is slightly bulky on one side and slim on the other. All of these features result in a jig that, when immersed, possesses a combination of presentations, one of which is the "falling leaf" maneuvers, with intense rotation. They work better with a Slow Lift & Drop jigging action and they will react to the slightest rod input.
