The new Ultegra FC is the ultimate evolution of one of Shimano's most popular mid-priced reels.

Containing many of the latest technical features found on top-of-the-range Shimano reels like Stella, at a price that defies reality, the new Ultegra range offers remarkable value.

The combination of Hagane Gear, Micro Module II, X-Ship and Silent Drive ensures the very best winding performance, even under pressure, with remarkable smoothness that enhances the fishing experience. In particular, technologies such as the Silent Drive and Micromodule Gear II, make the Ultegra reeling performance approach flagship levels.

It is also one of the very few occasions that Shimano has implemented a Long Stroke Spool, for better and improved casting distance. If line casting is a priority for you, as it is for most anglers, the upgraded long stroke spool, will offer you increased casting reach, due to the improved line flow from the spool. Up to now it was only available in the Stella and Vanquish models, but now you can get it on the Ultegra FC.

Silent Drive Technology, for microscopic level tolerances and Durability have been further improved, through the X-Protect technology that offers maximum protection, in the harshest saltwater environment by preventing water from getting into the moving parts of the line roller and roller clutch, extending longevity and delivering failsafe performance; these are also available on the Shimano Ultegra FC. Shimano’s water repellant coating and specially designed labyrinth construction, ensure a lifetime of top level performance, by stopping water penetration, in key areas without adding a heavy rotational feel.

For distance casting, the Long Stroke Spool design and AR-C Spool enables the line to flow more freely during the cast and the addition of a CI4+ Body reduces overall weight for less fatigue when fishing for extended periods.
