Zoka is a name used in Greece to describe a particular vertical fishing technique, often combined with live, or fresh bait. It comprises of a chromium finished sinker, with a solid hook, the weight of which can range from low to extra heavy for deep fishing, targeting large size prey. This type of fishing requires specialized gear that can tolerate fights taking place in the deeper end of the water column, in areas with currents.
The Zoka Live Bait model is another specialized Ryobi rod, from the Fuego series. Ryobi has always pleasantly surprised its fishing audience with the robustness, durability and affordable prices of its products, so they remained consistent with these features, with the Fuego Zoka Live Bait rod.
Until today, Zoka fishing was combined with Inchiku, Heavy Slow Jigging, or Trolling rods. The Fuego Zoka Live Bait was developed by Ryobi to do what its name suggests, that is to fish with the Zoka fishing technique with live, or fresh bait, a demanding technique, which is currently flourishing and appeals to an enthusiastic Mediterranean audience.
The Fuego Zoka Live Bait rod can also be used for Vertical fishing from the boat, using silicone lures. It is a split rod that separates the butt from the blank, in order to maximize strength. The handle is lined with EVA, non-slip material for a firm grip during battle. At the end of the handle, Ryobi has installed a cross base, that fits any fighting belt. If you do not own a fighting belt, the Cross ending has an EVA cover for comfort and support during a fight.
The use of Fuji K guides with Fazlite rings, demonstrates Ryobi's commitment to develop a quality rod with top notch peripheral equipment. Fazlite, which is a patented, high-performance material by Fuji, has been utilized for the construction of the inner ring, of the Fuji K guides. The Fazlite rings come in a dazzling deep blue color and they have been designed to last long, reduce abrasion wear, help avoid wind knots and keep the braid’s surface smooth and silky, for as long as possible. Certainly the properties of the Fazlite material, can not be compared to the properties of Alconite, but they far exceed the expectations and limits set by Fuji to create an affordable, high-performance porcelain.
All of the above features of the Fuego Zoka Live Bait rod, make it one of the few rods on the market, tailor made for this exclusive fishing technique.
It can be rigged with a multiplier reel and is available in two versions.
