A traditional method for the Mediterranean is the so called “Zoka” which is similar to Tenya, only the gear if more sturdy. It involves bottom fishing for large fish, depending on the depth and the size of the sinker.

The Seashell Lead Sinker included a hook with a lead sinker, inserted in a natural seashell. The construction is solid and sturdy.

It can be combined with live, or fresh bait such as squid or octopus tentacles, cuttlefish, etc. Being made with natural seashells, not one Zoka jig is similar to another. It blends with the natural environment.

Due to their irregular, natural shape, they do not possess the hydrodynamic profile that man made jigs possess. Hence they will not sink to the bottom at the normal rate and get affected by currents more that industrial sinkers with hook. It is advised to use heavier weights than you normally would.  

A ring eyelet is also installed for rigging.

Zoka jigs are handmade so there are diferences in their weigth with proximity of ±5 gr
