Yamashita has tried something really unique with the Taikabura Hiragata jigs, in an attempt to create a really unique Tair Rubber jig. First, they feature a number of unique design features, like the line through head design, silicone skirt and quick interchangeable head system. One of the disadvantages, or weak point of the conventional Tyraba jigs is that the leader line must be cut when replacing the jig head. Moreover, on a moving boat, it is sometimes difficult to put a line through a small hole or reattach it. Therefore, changing frequently the color and weight of the kabura jig, becomes frustrating. Yamashita decided to adopt in the Taikabura Hiragata jigs, a system that allows one-touch detachment. There is simply no other way to extend fishing time and get even better results, as it only takes 5 seconds to replace the jig head without cutting the line. This way, Yamashita enables you to fully adopt to changing water depth, tidal current, changing places, rotate weights and colors, etc.

But the real innovation was the shifting the angle of the thread hole and the center of gravity of the Hiragata head. Hayabusa created a jig that presents a unique fluttering, sliding action to the left and right, that has never been achieved before. All towards the end of inducing a bite and not getting the skirt tangled up.

From actual field testing that Yamashita performed, it was found that there are presentations where "head movement" is effective. In some cases, resembling the swimming motion of a shoal of sardines, the non-motion of the jig's head is effective. There are cases however, in which sardines weaken and fall from the flock, in a fluttering manner. Pursuing the hypothesis that there is a Red Sea Bream under the shoal, the fluttering movement of a weakened sardine causes a predatory reaction. This is what Yamashita aims to reproduce with the Taikabura Hiragata Jigs.

Hence, Yamashita moved the center of gravity of the jig, slightly to the right as one is facing it and that is generating a force to tilt the body to the right. However, as the line is pulled from the front and a reaction is caused to the natural balance of the jig, the fluttering motion is being produced and the jig works like a pendulum.

Yamashita has also added a plastic device on which the silicone skirt and the assist hooks are tied. This allows you to easily replace a silicone tie that needs replacement, or the Assist Hooks, or even add extra tinsels on it, or a silicone octopus without cutting the thread.

The line through head design gives the skirt a very natural presentation on the drop resulting in more hits and more fish. It allows the head to separate from the hooks while fighting the fish which in turn reduces the number of dropped fish. The silicone skirt has been tuned with a crinkle at the bottom to improve action and mimic the natural swimming action of a prawn, the neck tie and skirt are what gives these jigs such a tantalizing action.

In order to easily replace jig heads, Yamashita displays the size (weight) of the Taikabura, with easy-to-see letters on both sides of the ball. You can easily distinguish it amongst other jigs, just by glancing at the tackle box. In addition, the Taikabura jig heads have special finishing which makes them hard to slip even with wet hands. The plastic part can be easily removed with a plier if it gets stuck. All these little details have been taken under consideration by Yamashita when designing the Taikabura in an effort to make you enjoy fishing even more.

Available in 5 sizes and 5 colors.

Replacement heads, skirts and hooks are sold separately.
