The Shimano Grappler Light Jigging rods have been crafted by the leading Japanese company with excellence in mind. Grappler is the next generation of Shimano offshore rods offering a light weight and powerful Light Jigging and Tai Rubber rod model.

Shimano developed the blanks with Hi-Power X blank technology, hence these slim rods have sensitive tips, combined with extreme power.

The Grappler models feature Fuji K-guides for tangle free braid use and EVA handles for comfort and durability.

Designed and tested in Japan by some of the world’s best rod developers, the Shimano Grappler Light Jigging rods set the standard in offshore fishing.

Shimano Technologies

High Power X Blank Construction. In Hi-Power X construction, the blank’s outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of “X” shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.

CI4+ Carbon Infused Technology. The use of Shimano's Carbon CI4+ Technology has been applied to this rod design to increase sensitivity and strength in the tip and butt section of the rod.

Quality Fuji Components. Fuji Components such as Stainless K Guides, heavy duty EVA grips, Fuji DPS and TCS reel seats and heavy duty Fuji MNSG (Ocean Guide) guides for the casting rods are all used to finish the Grappler Series to the highest standard.
