Nerd Fishing Twitcher LRF Rod

The Twitcher is a unique, handmade rod designed to meet the requirements of Light Rock Fishing (LRF), as this is practiced in Greek waters, to an extend that has never been done before. For the first time in the history of Light Rock Fishing in Greece, has such a masterpiece been developed to fulfill every need of LRF enthusiasts. The Nerd Fishing workshop of George Kalaganis, in collaboration with the well-known angler and fishing blogger George Tyrikos Erga and retailer Tsouros Marine, present a specialized tool, full of custom made innovations for technical fishing fishermen.

The Twitcher LRF rod has been designed to meet four specific requirements:

• Achieve long casts with small size lures. The installment of High Frame, Fuji guides has played a crucial role in this, as both the number of guides placed and their distribution are in accordance with the exact guidelines of Fuji. 
• Cast with immaculate precision
• Allow absolute control of any lure and bring them to life with Twitching, being the favorite presentation style of the most important prey in the Greek LRF world of fishing (Saddled Seabream, Seabass, White Seabream)
• Achieve the ultimate combination of sensitivity, accuracy in passing commands and receiving stimuli from our lure and prey and at the same time possess the necessary strength to strike and manage large catches

The Twitcher rod has been in the testing phase for about a year and a half. After a series of changes in the blanks and the setup, we came up with a completely innovative proposal - something that is not widely available in the market. The Twitcher consists of a single-sectioned blank, 1.72 m long, which is combined with a very short, detachable butt and resembles the setting of a Fly Fishing rod, or a specialized Aji rod. Its excellent balance, especially with the proposed mechanisms, makes using and casting with one hand a new experience.

The components that accompany this unique blank are stainless steel Fuji K Series guides, with Alconite ring, developed with Tangle Free technology, Fuji TVS Reel Seat, decorated in the unique Nerd-White color pattern and high-strength handle with Carbon coating. The very short Butt is purely supportive, since the rod can fish either with, or without it, depending on how long the angler wants the butt to be. The decoration of the blank is simple, despite its intense color character that makes it unique.

The Twitcher has been designed and built through endless hours of fishing on the Greek coastline and has incorporated all the elements one needs to enjoy an efficient, Finesse LRF fishing session. If you are fishing in a shallow, rocky shore, where the accuracy of the shot is important to reach specific water structures, or where the precise handling of the lure is absolutely necessary to avoid entanglements, or when one is fishing in areas where shallow areas met with steep, rocky drops, the need for the Twitcher rod, becomes more and more evident. This rod will also make its benefits evident when fishing at ports, from a boat, or a canoe, as the Twitcher will throw our bait away, where we want it to go and will animate it properly, instantly transmitting our every command to it. The catch is done instantly and the rod can handle large White and Saddled Seabreams, or fighting Seabass with great comfort.

You will witness any lure that comes to life with the motions of the rod, whether a small Jerkbait, a Minnow, a Micro-WtD on the surface, move like nothing you have ever seen before. It will not only be the casts, or the accuracy of the commands you give, but the fact that you can feel in the palm of your hand the other end of the braid, in an incomparable way compared to what you have been used to so far. This is facilitated by the general handling of the rod with one hand and the very short and single blank that provides both the best possible transmission of information, as well as a constant contact with your bait.

• If you are a Daiwa loyal customer, look for a reel up to size 2000, at a weight of no more than 180 gr. A good choice is the Ballistic LT
• If you prefer Shimano, try with a 1000 size reel, at a weight up to 180 gr. A good option is the Stradic FL.

In addition to the weight (up to 180 gr) it is advised to combine the Twitcher with a high Gear Ratio, with over 75 cm retrieve reel. The recommended braid is PE0.3.
