Strike Pro Sea Monster II Popper

Strike Pro has developed a peculiar popper lure, one that has incorporated in its design characteristics, that we seldom come across in other lures. Although designed for lake and river fishing, the Sea Monster II quickly gained its place amongst saltwater lures, as it proved to be very popular in Sea Bass fishing.

The Strike Pro Sea Monster II is a Popper developed to simulate a bait that breathes on the water surface, aiming at prey that feed on surface and subsurface targets. It’s mouth does not only look wide open, as if the fish is trying to breathe, but is actually hollow and allows water to pass through. It is provided with channels where water passes through the water lines and creates sounds attracting the predators. At the same time it releases air bubbles and creates a sense of life with sounds and water currents. It really looks as if it breathes on the surface like a mullet, or bait fish that sticks the mouth out of the water surface and swims in an appealing way.

Metallic spheres have been placed in the tail of the Strike Pro Sea Monster II and create rattling sounds that give away the correct position in the water. The rear treble hook is decorated with white feathers that further enhance the visual effect of the lure, resembling a wounded bait.

By repeating a “stop and go” motion while retaining the Sea Monster on the water surface, you will manage to give this lure a life-like motion, with the tip of your rod. If you are going to use it for trolling from a boat, you can perform more intense actions that will get it deep into the water and then let the head rise from the water. This type of movement, turns on the predators’ switch.
