Yellow Flags: Be Aware and Cautious
Yellow flags mean some rip current activity is expected. You should be cautious if entering the water, don’t swim alone, and know what to do if caught in a rip current. This flag is flown for normal conditions to remind swimmers to stay alert.
Red Flags: Strong and Frequent Rips
Red flags mean dangerous rip current activity is expected. The rip currents would be likely to be stronger and more frequent. It’s recommended to stay out of the water. Flown when conditions are determined to be out of the ordinary, such as presence of strong wind, strong current or large surf.
Green: Conditions are calm. Swim with care.
