Stainless steel blade Sandvik The Sandvik stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40 %, which allows to obtain a very satisfactory cutting without being susceptible to corrosion.
Yatagan the name originally meant a sword used in Turkey. By creating a folding knife, Joseph Opinel has designed a form called Yatagan blade (curved at the tip) and the curved profile that guarantee unparalleled quality of cut.

Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
