This Shimano reel is poised to be the new basic of powerful electric reels, with a body that has been redesigned to be low profile, enabling the user to control with a single hand. The Thumb Rest Clutch and Quick Return Clutch further enhances your handling of the reel while the Muteki Motor greatly increases the power and speed.
The Plays 4000 is more suited to larger species and features a massive 50kg of max winding strength. With a line capacity of 300 m for PE 2.0 lines and 200 m for PE 3.0 lines, the Plays 600 is a model for light game fishing. However, being an electric reel for light game, the power and speed of the 600 model is comparable to the higher end electric reel models Shimano has to offer.
A smoother and stronger drag is achieved with Carbon Cloth Washer and the newly added function Instant Stop allows the angler to instantly stop retrieving with just a press of a button.
The Shimano Plays 4000 is also equipped with Magnetic Control System, that reduces backlash by utilizing the magnetic field generated by the high RPM spinning of the spool during descent.
Featuring Super Free Spool, Raku-Raku mode, Heat Free System and Super Slow Retrieve, both Shimano Plays Electric Reels are packed with technology and functions an electric reel should have. With a CI4+ knob which fits snug when held and a 65mm handle, cranking becomes a comfortable task for anglers.

These bearings have been through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing's rotation.
Rakuraku Mode / Fixed Speed Mode: Select between Rakuraku Mode, which maintains a specific line tension, and Fixed Speed Mode, which maintains a fixed spool rotation speed, according to your situation.
Gunwale Stop: Stops retrieving the line at the point where you can raise the rod vertical and have the rig come straight to your hand. The gunwale stop position is set automatically, allowing you to raise the rod verical and have the rig come straight to your hand.
Smart Line Depth: Allows you to easily return your rig to the same depth after repairing your line if it breaks. If you break your line, after repairing it, lower the ring to the surface and press 0 set. The Smart Line Depth function then automatically returns your rig to the same depth it was before it broke.
Top-Down / Bottom-Up Modes: This allows you to change the saved depth display mode when you want to check the distance from the bottom depending on fishing spot, fishing style or target fish. Top-Down Mode displays the saved depth, while Bottom-Up Mode displays the distance from the bottom to the saved depth.
