As is expected with the release of a new version of a flagship model, the 2022 Daiwa Saltiga reel benefits from new technologies, aimed at improving the angler’s experience and fishing performance of this exceptional product. The key concept lies in the so-called "Hyperdrive" design, which brings together four key points of reel reinforcement. The Hyper Drive design concept, comprises a combination of different manufacturing techniques, which considerably improve the functioning and the lifespan of a baitcasting reel.
The Hyper Drive Digigear, represents an engineering evolution, with precise machining of C6191 bronze, a lightweight and 1.6 times stronger material compared to Dura-aluminum, aiming to improve cranking power without affecting the fluid motion of the reel.
Hyper Armed Housing is all about the improved rigidity of the one-piece, aluminum frame and its design precision.
Hyper Double Support, provides the pinion gear with immense support for better resistance and precision.
Hyper Tough Clutch, a redesigned and reinforced clutch mechanism increases durability and performance.

Hyper Digigear - Digital gear design ensures a perfect mesh between ultra-tough, surface treated alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear for optimized speed, power and durabilty.
The Automatic Tournament Drag System (ATD) is a new introduction into DAIWA spinning reels and is offering better protection of your line. A major drawback with many drag systems is that they are not smooth at the beginning of the drag. ATD rectifies this issue.
Magsealed - Ball bearings are perhaps one of the first few components to succumb to dirt particles or corrosion in a fishing reel after prolonged use in saltwater. Using the same ferrofluid technology (Mag Seal) for creating a waterproof seal with magnetized oil in place of conventional O rings, Daiwa seals its ball bearings with Mag Seal, making them dustproof and waterproof, thus prolonging the lifespan (and smoothness) of the bearings. CRBB - Shielded for extra protection. Unlike ordinary "corrosion resistant" bearings with un unprotected open race, Daiwa's CRBB ball bearings are shielded to seal out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives for even longer life. CRBB ball bearingsfeature an12 times higher corrosion resistance than usual ball bearings.
