Balzer Shirasu Silicone Baits Rig

The Balzer Shirasu is a specially customized, silicone and fresh bait rigging system, incorporating two treble hooks.

Simply twist the spiral into the silicone’s head and stick the spikes in the belly area. You can also utilize this rig for trolling with fresh bait.

The rig has been developed with Treble Hooks for perfect presentation and hook up rate. Since the treble hook hangs freely and is not inserted in the lure’s body, there are plenty of points for the fish to get caught by. Most predators will attack their prey from below, or the side. Therefore, the hook up rate is significantly higher, than with a stinger hook sitting on top.

After the bite, the hooked fish pulls the treble out of the shad. This protects the rubber from the teeth of the predator. Also the lure achieves a more free and natural motion compared to that of a jig head with a fixed hook.

The Balzer Shirasu rig comes in two sizes: at 9 cm (recommended for lures 14 to 20 cm) and 14 cm (recommended for lures 21 to 30 cm).
