Yamashita has developed the miniature Naory Oppai Sutte, soft squid jigs for the Light Eging style. This is a silicone body Egi, exclusively developed for creating “Assist Rigs”.

This first feature we have to point out is the Naory’s ability to attract squids, with its soft body. Once the squid touches it, it won't let go.

The second feature is the textile material used for the development of the Yamashita Naory Oppai Sutte squid jigs, as there are lures with a glowing body, to create an appeal at night and with Keimura body, that has high appeal during the day.

They come in a small size (1.2) which is effective for small size squids. Because of their small size and low weight, Ajing tackle has to be used. Action is not of outmost importance, but sensitivity of the rod is. If the rod is too hard, you will miss the bite of the squid. The line that will be used is of equal importance. For PE the ideal width is around 0.2. If you are using Ester line, then a diameter around 0.3 is ideal. For Nylon and Fluorocarbon, use around 0.8. Since a slightly heavier sinker is used, it is okay to use a slightly thicker line.

The most significant contribution of the Yamashita Naory Oppai Sutte, in squid fishing however, is the various ways in which they can assist anglers catch more squid, but creating many and different rigs.

Carol Rigs

In Carol, or Downshot rigs, 3g to 5g sinkers are common. Use 5g when the current is fast, when the wind is strong and you want to cast far, or when the water is deep. The length of the leader is approximately 30-60 cm. The weight of the sinker is not easily transmitted to the squid jig, making it easier for the squid jig to act. You can use the Carol rig, day, or night.

Down Shot Rig

Especially during the daytime, squids usually lurk close to the bottom, so it's best to aim for the bottom. The Down Shot rigs are popular, because it is not easy to get caught in the bottom. Use a 5g sinker when the current is fast, when the wind is strong and you want to cast far, or when the water is deep. One Naory Oppai Sutte is enough. However, if you are using a long rod, you can rig multiple Egis, making it easy to explore different levels of the water column.

Shore Metal Squid Jig

This is a fishing method in which the angler attaches a small, metallic squid jig, of approximately 10 gr weight and then rigs a Naory Oppai as a dropper on top of it. This technique works best with a Medium Light fishing rod. After casting, it's a lift and tension fall. You will instantly tell when a squid attacks your rig, as the weight will change.

Eging

The Eging rig is very similar to the general Eging fishing style. Using an 1.7 to 2.5 size of Egi, you can increase the rate of success by adding a Yamashita Naory Oppai Sutte 40 to 60 cm higher than the bottom lure.
