An MQ frame design allows Daiwa to fit a larger gear inside the reel, adding power and longevity to your gear set.
The Prorex reel series, a flagship for the leading Japanese company, has undergone a major update through the use of the MQ Technology, coupled with the LT concept, it is lighter and stronger for unparalleled fishing comfort. The quality of the materials used, give the Prorex reel exceptional durability, while preserving its fluid motion for optimal retrieve.
This reel has been developed under the LT concept (Light & Tough). It has been developed around a Zaion V Carbon Frame increasing its resistance, while reducing its weight. Zaion, is an exclusive, high-density carbon material, with anti-corrosion properties, that’s both lighter and tougher than magnesium. Zaion is as tough as metal, but as light as carbon. Any reel with a Zaion body, cares for an ultra-safe housing of the drive, thus guaranteeing permanently silky-smooth running.
Daiwa also built the Prorex as an MQ technology reel, featuring an one-piece Monocoque (MQ) Aluminum body. An MQ frame design allows Daiwa to fit a larger gear inside the reel, adding power and longevity to your gear set. The most exciting technology in the spinning reel game, is the Daiwa Monocoque body, an one-piece frame - eliminating the use of traditional two-piece Body & Sideplate construction. A single piece body utilizes a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed gear box.
The elimination of the side plate also has also allowed for a more compact body design as well as room for a larger gear compared to standard reel frame designs. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact. Screws need material to grip to, and that means more overall size and more mass in traditional body designs. By replacing the side plate with a machined aluminum engine plate, which screws directly into the reel body, MQ reels can maximize the internal space made available by using larger size drive gears than before. On top of the weather resistance added from the MQ Technology, these reels also feature a rubber seal system for the ultimate protection from the elements.
The Daiwa Prorex MQ 22 LT 3000 CXH model weighs only 205 grams.
