Major Craft Crostage Wind Rods

The Wind rods, are a separate category of fishing rods, that have received their name from the fishing style they perform. The Wind technique is applied to silicone baits, accompanied by darting type jigheads. The characteristic of the Wind style is the movement performed by the soft bait, due to the continuous twitches by the rod, as well as the overall behavior of Wind rods.

More specifically, the retrieval method is as following: after the cast and as soon as the lure reaches the bottom, we begin to retrieve it with continuous vertical jerks (upward movement). The silicone bait will follow a continuous zig-zag movement. During the recovery we should always have a little bit of slack in the line and the reel’s drags, not so tight. Wind rods have a regular fast, fast, or even extra fast tip action and a strong blank. The wind rods can also fish floating lures, with a walk the dog movement, as well as small jigs.

CRX-802MW - This model is perfect for getting started with Wind games. Especially for women and junior anglers, the length is set just right for enjoying the game. The slightly short blank makes it easy to produce light darting with a little force and the swing through when casting is outstanding. CRX-832MW - This is the standard Crostage model. With an ideal Casting Weight around 14g, any angler can enjoy a full-fledged Wind game with a hardness that allows light game, at a length of 2.52 m with excellent operability. This Crostage model is ideal for targeting Bonitos and Seabass.

CRX-862MW - This rod is recommended for long casting, with an average Casting Weight of around 14g (1/2oz). This length is required for targeting offshore species that migrate, or lurk in rocky areas. It is also recommended for large slack jerks, that take advantage of its full length and a technical Wind game, that makes full use of short jerks.

CRX-832MHW - 10g (5/8oz) to 28g (1oz) class Casting Weight, recommended for deep water points and fast currents. It is also good at long casts that make use of heavy lures, so this model is intendent for advantageous offshore, wind games. It is a rod recommended for targeting species that require butt power and medium-heavy action.
