Yamashita Naory Hunter Shallow Squid Jigs

For the Eging enthusiasts who want to read between the lines, in Japanese, the concept of "Naori" as an ideogram, refers to something that has been woven, but also to something that is valuable though small. This could not describe better this little Yamashita squid: a delicate masterpiece, with perfect fabric, movement, profile and texture. An Egi that we can use with the most sophisticated rods of the technique, or with a Light rod of ULRF, or LRF.

Yamashita designed the Naory Egi range, exclusively for Light Egging, but at the same time its winking towards Light Rock Fishing enthusiasts. In this range, an angler will find squid jigs that allow him to adopt to a number of Eging styles, targeting squids from the surface, all the way to the bottom. For that purpose Yamashita has produced various types, (Deep, Shallow and Basic Shallow) squid jigs, in different colors and sizes, providing the angler to interchange squid jigs according to the depth of the target zone, the currents, the reactive colors, etc.

Squids, especially in the summer, usually hunt shrimp offspring, however we insist on fishing them with squid jigs of size 3.0 - 3.5, while we systematically forget this fact: that most species feed on small shrimps and that most of the time they will be indifferent to our larger lures, especially when shrimps offspring is present in abundance in the area. So Yamashita offers for our case one of the smallest squid jigs in the market, with a weight starting at 2.3 g, a length of 4 cm and a sinking rate that starts at 1 meter in 10 seconds, or less.

The Naory Basic Shallow (BS) Egi, has been developed to target squids, hunting on the surface, up to the middle layers. This is a Standard model for Yamashita. The Naory Basic Shallow sinks in a horizontal position at a rate of 8.5 secs per meter. It is available in two sizes, with single or double hooks. Their eyes are big and green.

The range of colors include attractive combinations which sparkle during the day and Natural colors, that resemble Mediterranean bait fish.

The Naory Shallow (S) is also a shallow type Egi, at almost the same characteristics in terms of length and weight, but a slightly slower sinking rate than the Basic model. The smaller sizes 1.5 and 1.8 have a sinking speed starting at 8.5 up to 10 seconds for one meter of depth. The larger size (2.2) in size, weighs 6.5 gr and sinks at a rate of 1 meter in every 5 seconds. Being a Shallow Egi it targets squids hunting close to the surface, however you can alternatively select a Shallow squid jig that will sink faster to the action zone, deeper in the water column. As a result, it helps you explore the water column faster and cope with slight currents. The Yamashita Naory Shallow is equipped with bright, blue eyes.

Yamashita developed the external sinker from Tin material, which has low environmental impact. Since Tin is a material with a lower specific gravity than lead, it has a larger silhouette than a lead sinker of the same weight, a feature that improves stability during fall.
