X Ship: More than just a support bearing, X-Ship is a combination of a cold forged main gear married with a brass drive gear. The two metals don't eat away at each other, providing longer lasting performance, as well as a smoother, more powerful retrieve. Shimano's X-Ship takes spinning reel technology to a whole new level. Anglers will experience increased gearing efficiency and power, providing for ultra-ligh handle rotation. By using a large diameter drive gear, moving the pinion gear closer to the center of the drive gear to provide 20% more power, and by supporting the pinion gear with two ball bearings, X-Ship provides a smooth, effortless retrieve, and also virtually eliminates the pinion gear twist and rotor flex common with most spinning reels when fighting a fish. X-Ship provides anglers with smoothness right-out-of-the-box.

Infinity Drive: Αn advanced structure that produces lower friction and lighter winding. Pinion gear is supported by the spool shaft instead of the pinion gear bearing on the spool side. Rotational resistance of the gear section has been reduced without compromising gear strength.

Hagane Gear: The Hagane Drive Gear is produced by Shimano's coldforging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a longlasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

Silent Drive: Removed ‘clicking’ sound and ‘handle play’ and overall improved smooth reeling.

CI4+: CI4 is a resin material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material.The rigidity and durability have been greatly improved from original CI4 material while maintaining the lightness of the material, making it possible to reduce the size and weight of the reel.

Parellel Body: The reel has a relatively small body which gives the reel a compact feel. The Parallel Body feature is added to increase casting distance and accuracy, by eliminating line slap during the cast. The Parallel Body will make sure that you can always cast your baits right there where you want them. Parallel Body is designed to improve dynamic line flow from the reel. On many reels, the spool is aligned slightly upwards towards the rod blank, but reels with Parallel Body have the spool located parallel to the blank. The result: less line slapping on the blank as it travels towards the first guide during the cast, ultimately increasing performance.
