Major Craft Jig Rubber Through

This is the ultimate hybrid combination of Tai Rubber and Tenya jigs by Major Craft. Lately, a number of fishing styles have sprung combining a Free Slide jig and a Silicone rig, but they all have one thing in common: they become lighter and lighter and offer interesting and effective variations of fundamentally the same fishing style. Also, the design of these jigs has been based on simplicity. Just do the basics… cast, let it sink, retrieve slowly. 

The Major Craft Jig Rubber Through consists of a symmetrical jig, with hydrodynamic shape, that resembles a boat’s keel and allows it to sink in a balanced manner. There are two parts to the jig: the heavy, sliding head and the light, rubber skirt with tinsels, combined with two, small, sharp Tai Rubber Assist Hooks (30, 40, 60 gr models), or one Offset worm hook (10, 15, 20 gr models).

The jig comes in two versions and allows the angler to try a variety of silicone skirts: the first version comes with a classic skirt and a rig of two hooks (Tai Rubber type) and the other with an Offset hook, for rigging silicone warm baits and other soft lures, or even fresh bait (Tenya type). Naturally there are different ways to set up the rig, as well as jerk the lure in order to work each technique, but the potential is absolutely limitless, whether you are casting from the shore, of dropping from the boat.

Their unique feature is that the head is not tied to the braid, but moves free along the line (Free Slide). The Jig Rubber are equipped with a protective tube that minimizes damage to the line. The head sinks first, followed by the rigged bait, a motion that is totally natural. As the head sinks, the bait is left behind and sinks at a slower pace. Then and after the jig head sits at the bottom, we retrieve the bait, which begins to approach the jig, producing a natural motion and causing the predators’ reaction. The fact that the line passes through the jig, allows you to always in direct contact with your rig and this increases sensitivity and reduces the reaction time.

Major Craft also observed that a smooth and natural descent of a jig can be achieved, when the shape of the jig is aerodynamic and does not meet intensive water resistance. The falling motion of the Jig Rubber Through provides no discomfort to the prey, since the head sinks first and the live bait follows. The bait appears natural and lures even weary fish. Since the silicone bait moves freely, without being compromised by the weight of the head, their movement is absolutely natural, as the predators in the area will perceive. But when attacked, the head which lies in the bottom, does not allow the easy removal of the bait.

The selected shape of the jig head, moved the center of gravity to the rear, a characteristic that enhances casting distance. With the Major Craft JRT you can achieve overwhelming casting distances and explore wide areas. During retrieval, the rear part of the jig bottoms out first, to prevent the jig from getting tangled up.

The assist hooks are light weight with a highly penetrating tip. You might think that the hooks with which the Jig Rubber are rigged are small, but there is a simple reason for it. If the hook is small in size, it does not affect the weight of the bait and allows the bait to be directly sucked in, regardless of its size. The small hooks have become very popular in Japan and because of their incredible, penetrating capacity, they might catch the fish from everywhere, such as cheeks, lips, etc. The extreme design allows the lure to work as a classic Tai Rubber lure, as well as a Tenya Lure for bottom jigging.

The fishing technique is to let the lure hit the bottom, then to slowly wind up about ten meters of braid before dropping the lure back to the bottom. Two key points are to let the lure hit the bottom hard, as this gains the attention of fish in the area. The second point is to slowly wind the lure up without jigging, as the assist hooks need to trail behind the jig to ensure good hookup rates.
