Heat shrink butt connectors (terminals) are electrical connectors used to terminate stranded wires and create a reliable connection.
A solid connection is important in every part of an electrical system. Being able to disconnect and reconnect makes maintenance much easier.
Heat shrink butt connectors (terminals) are electrical connectors used to terminate stranded wires and create a reliable connection.
Color- coded tubing, with wire gauge imprint, makes it easy to identify the right size of the connector. The barrel is created from one seamless piece of copper. Copper barrel provides increased current flow, and ensures less voltage drop, preventing wiring failures and reducing equipment downtime. Dual-walled tubing ensures waterproof seal and prevents wire corrosion, can be ideal used whether you are working on your boat.
They do not cause breakage of the wire strands, when wire is bent, under stress, or in a vibrating environment. Twin ferrule designs allow two individual stranded conductors to be connected to the same termination.
The insulation color indicates the wire gauge the terminal should be used on. Red insulation (R) is for 0.5 – 1.5 mm² (15-20 AWG). Blue insulation is for 1.5 to 2.5 mm² (13-15 AWG). Yellow insulation is for 4 to 6 mm² (10 – 11 AWG).
