The Egging rod series “Calista” has been renewed by Yamaga Blanks with the latest, rod building technologies. The Calista Blanks have been redesigned, using Nanoalloy® technology, by Japanese company Toray to achieve their maximum potential as the egging rod of a new generation.
The ability for long distance casting has been increased, thanks to the Fuji Torzite Titanium guides (SIC Titanium guide on the top guide only). The Blanks have been developed of Nanoalloy will bend for a moment, while the blank is loaded and will instantly return to its original state, thanks to the high repulsion force. There is a big deference between the new models and previous model in suppleness. Blanks with Nano alloy will enable anglers to jerk easily, with less power than with previous Eging models, while reducing burden of angler’s wrist. Because of this character, the angler will be able to jerk Egis sharply, with less strength than ever before and bring monster squid to the surface quickly, but more delicately, without losing any tentacles.
The tip section is highly sensitive, allowing high speed response and will diminish the chances of line tangle ups.
The Yamaga Blanks Calista rod series are more flexible than other Yamaga Eging rods, but not weaker. This is the one of remarkable characteristic of the Nanoalloy blanks. Although you might feel some stiffness when you handle a Calista rod, you will be able to jerk and set hooks on effectively less movements. Nanoalloy functions as a shock absorber and will follow for a moment the load, but will then return instantly, thanks to high repulsion force. You might need to get used to it, if you wish to fish with a Calista TZ Nano Eging rod, as casting and jerking lures happens with less strength and arm movements.
The 86L/TZ Nano is the light class rod, which is good for jerking. This is the rod to use when Eging with delicate PE lines, or when squids seem weary and sensitive to the touch. Considered a “Light Class” rod, the 86L enables the angler to avoid excessive movements, but has enough butt power to keep squid over 2kg under control. This is a fine egging rod for anglers who fish with super fine PE lines.
