The development of the 2024 Sephia BB and overall setting has been based on Japanese standards. The Shimano Sephia BB is a rod of very low weight (only 105 gr), has been equipped with Fuji Alconite K-Type guides and the blank has been reinforced with the Hi-Power X blank technology. Blanks reinforced with Hi-Power X, are more resistant to torsional load, every time the rod is bent, reducing power loss and unpleasant vibrations. Hence it possesses the necessary strength to bring to the shore large cephalopods and the sensitive tip, not to tear their tentacles apart. With lesser power loss and reduced vibrations, power transmission during jigging motions are improved, making for easier manipulation of the squid jig.
