Furuno GP-1871F GPS/WAAS Chart Plotter / Fishfinder

Furuno and its products do not require special recommendations. The unique technologies on its instruments allow you to accurately read the shape of the bottom and the size of the game, which makes a Furuno model a necessary ally for each boat trip.

Furuno  is pleased to introduce two new compact GPS/WAAS Chart Plotters with built-in Chirp Fish Finder, the 9” GP-1971F and 7” GP-1871F. Both displays incorporate internal GPS, Chart Plotting with C-MAP4D cartography, TruEcho CHIRP™ technology and the refined Graphical User Interface (GUI) inherited from the NavNet TZtouch2. Model GP1871F replaces GP1670F while GP1971F replaces GP1870F. The maps of older models are compatible to the new models. Both models are equipped with two processors for faster map plotting and data computations. 

The Furuno GP-1871F is a compact chartplotter - completely buttonless - multifunctional display with unprecedented possibilities and a sublime readability in bright sunlight. Extremely suitable for smaller and medium-sized vessels within all types of water sports. All functions are controlled via the touch screen: chartplotter, wifi radar, CHIRP fishfinder and instruments. AIS data can also be read in via CANbus (NMEA-2000) and displayed on the chart, radar image or combination of both. It is also possible to connect an autopilot from the NAVpilot-300 and -700 series. The position picks the plotter either from the internal GPS receiver or from the on-board network. Suitable for the highly detailed C-Map 4D sea charts.

The all-glass, multi touch display gives you access to every feature via convenient and intuitive slide-out menus. Slide your finger down from the top of the display to select Quick Pages, including your favorite custom display modes, with a single tap. Slide out from the left to view customized Data Boxes. Slide up from the bottom to quickly adjust your layer settings. Finally, slide your finger out from the right side to instantly access the menu functions you use the most. Tap or double tab the display with two fingers to capture a screen shot or perform other customized functions. Everything in the menu is intuitive and contextual, so the content relates to the current display mode.

The Chart Plotter utilizes full-featured C-Map 4D charts. C-Map 4D empowers you with plenty of useful data that you can overlay onto a rich vector chart, such as relief vectors, tidal streams and marine plans, significantly boosting situational awareness. Creating routes and waypoints is as simple as touch-and-go. When connected to an AIS receiver, you can see valuable AIS data on the display. C-Weather, which provides downloadable wind, wave, weather, humidity and temperature information to add to your planning, is another standard feature.

The unit includes a built-in TruEcho CHIRP, as well as a conventional Fish Finder, transmitting at 300W, 600W or 1kW. Simply tell the unit what transducer you are using and it will select the type of Fish Finder to use. The TruEcho CHIRP transmits across a spectrum of frequencies, delivering an incredible amount of detail and clearly marking individual game fish and bait fish. The conventional Fish Finder includes RezBoost data processing for an ultra-crisp, high-resolution picture. Other features include ACCU-FISH fish size assessment, and the highly useful Bottom Discrimination function to help you find the most productive fishing grounds.

Radar can be overlayed onto the Chart Plotter display via wireless connection to the Furuno DRS4W 1st Watch Wireless Radar. The DRS4W’s wireless configuration makes it a breeze to add the compact 19" Radar dome to any vessel. The DRS4W can also display the Radar presentation on a connected smart phone or tablet, offering a major upgrade in safety and versatility.

With the Finger Gestures (one or two fingers) you can either zoom-in, zoom-out, double tap to take a screenshot or even jump to a full-screen mode when using Split-screen display mode. For friends of techniques such as Zoka, Tai Rubber, Free Slide and Inchiku, Furuno added a new targeted operation, incorporating a second separate A-Scope to enlarge, so you can get instant and accurate information about fish movements around your bait.

The device has 2 SD card slots for independent storage of a map and points/data/images. Tap the display with two fingers to capture a screenshot 
that will be saved directly to your microSD card.

If your boat is equipped with Yamaha engine, one of the device's screens will show all the engine indications.

It should be noted that P66 eye supports Accufish and BDS functions while CHIRP eye does not. Although the new models work excellently with P66 eye, it is highly recommended to use both eyes so that the capabilities of the models are maximized.

• The maximum depth depends on the sensor you are going to place. For example, the maximum depth with P66 at 50Hz is 350m. With mesh TM300 Chirp it's up to 250m.
