The Solpara Super Light Jigging is a rod with Regular Fast action, with Casting Weight from 20 to 100 gr. It is a rod that can handle thin braids, starting at PE # 0.6 to # 1.2. This is a rod for Light Jigging enthusiasts, capable of handling large catches, despite the fine tools with which it can be rigged. Undoubtedly, this rod would be the dominant model in the entertainment factor, as it is inconceivable for a light jig to descent to the bottom – any kind of bottom (sand, gravel, rocks) and not to get bitten. This is another reason why it is also suitable for children. And it is very important to emphasize that with such fine tools, it is not difficult for a 20, or 40 gr jig, in mild weather conditions, to descent even at 70 meters. This is the main advantage of the Super Light Jigging fishing technique, which is perhaps the only style that can guarantee success in any fishing expedition.
Once the jig reaches the bottom, use your wrist to shake the tip of the rod and let it sink again. Its resistance is so low that its use with short shakes of the wrist is very relaxing and pleasant. Experiment with a variety of styles, such as Long Jerks, Short Jerks as well as occasional steady retrieve.
The Major Craft Solpara Super Light Jigging rod can be rigged with a Bait Casting reel, similar to the ones we are using for Tai Rubber. This point is very important to stress: the shallow spool is a crucial factor for a successful Super Light Jigging fishing session. The Bait Casting reel that you will use must have a shallow spool, in order to spin freely and allow the jig to sink naturally. A deep spool, due to its volume and weight, slows down the lure and does not provide this option.
But can this rod, although it belongs in the Ultra Light Jigging style, aim at large fish? Yes it can, because it produces a very parabolic bending curve, so that it exerts a constant strain, to each inch of its blank. Just as an 8+ kg fish can be brought to surface with Tai Rubber gear, with braid # 0.8 and 0.30 mm fluorocarbon, so can a 3+ kg Dentex with PE #0.6 braid and 0.22 mm fluorocarbon leader.
