The Sunline FC Sniper is the next evolution of fluorocarbon.
The Sunline FC Sniper is the next evolution of fluorocarbon.
While slightly lower in strength compared to nylon, the exceptional abrasion resistance of fluorocarbon makes it all but impervious to damage from wear, making for an incredibly durable line. The low initial stretch allows for good sensitivity, while like nylon, there is just enough stretch to absorb shock. The hardness of the material may take some getting used to. Now, with dramatically higher abrasion resistance-even stronger against surface damage than our conventional product.
In the Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon line you will find two distinctive manufacturing technologies:
- Triple Resin Processing – Retains its strength and suppleness even when knotted. Triple Resin Processing is a unique process that fills in the space between molecules with resin. As a result the line is moisture proof, very slick and resistant to shock and wear.
- Parallel Spooling – A spooling system which minimizes curling and surface indentation. Feel the difference as the line comes off the spool nice and straight and very smooth.
Technical Characteristics
- Sinking Speed (specific gravity): 1.78 (fast sinking speed.)
- Moisture Absorption: No
- Flexibility: Hard
- Stretch (amount of stretch at breaking point): Yes (slightly less stretch than nylon. Low initial stretch means better sensitivity.)
- Abrasion Resistance: Hard surface is resistant to scratches and damage
- Straight Strength: Strong
- Knot Strength: Approx. 70% of straight strength
- Refractive index: 1.42 (nearly invisible in water due to the refractive index being close to that of water (1.33)).
- Manufactured with the newly developed high molecular weight fluorocarbon. High levels of tensile and knot strength made possible by exceptional technology.
- Parallel spooling keeps the line from flattening.
- TRP processing with new, special resins to resist mud and dirt from sticking to the line.
- Quantum improvement in straightness-expect to get even more casting distance.
- Pound test-specific line texture design.
- Strength is paramount for 2-6 lb, while lay on the reel and castability are the priorities for 7-12 lb.
- For 13 lb and over, sensitivity and abrasion resistance are emphasized for pitching with the texas rig, or rubber jig.
- 150 m spools with practical marking at the 75 m point
