Maxel Rage Reels

Powered by the success of the Maxel high-end Rage jigging reel series, launched at the end of 2019, Maxel added to its portfolio a new size, the 20H reel. One that incorporates a number of technological upgrades and is currently one of its best sellers.

One of the upgrades Maxel installed to the new versions of the Rage is a “Stepping Stone” position, called “M”, which lays between “Free” and “Strike” setting. This position of the Lever Drag, brings significant advantages, when using ultra-thin braided line in Slow Jigging to fight strong fish, as it reduces quickly the drag force, provides more precise control and minimizing line breakages.

Also, the reels are armed with a hyper-sensitive drag system, which allows it to be filled with very thin PE braid -as fine as PE0.6.

The Rage reels also encompas smoother gearing and a lighter feel, when cranking the handle. This has been achieved not just by optimal gearing, bearings and lubrication, but also by extending the handle by 10mm and adding a new aluminum, ball knob.

Maxel also moved the position of the alarm button, to the top center of the side frame to avoid the accidental activation, as was the case with previous versions. The drag lever has been redesigned to produce a clicking sound.

The drive shield has also been changed and the screws have been hidden inside the shield, to reduce the risk of corrosion.

Other improvements include the reel foot, now being in place with four screws instead of two, for a more secure placement.

The Rage 20H/HL are designed with shallow spool, non clicking alarm and a single drag system.
