It’s forward motion stops on a dime, with a subtle shimmy before coming to a rest, then ever so slightly lifts its head with a super slow-rise. When it swims the Rapala Ripstop moves really in a fast and erratic motion and then comes to an abrupt stop that gives it a very enticing action for following fish.

The Rapala RipStop looks similar to some of the more recent additions to the Rapala jerkbait lineup. But the most noticeable difference is the down swept tail and that makes this lure stand out from the jerkbait crowd. This progressive design for a tail, gives to the bait the action Rapala was looking for. The tail has a down turned shape and helps the bait stop on a dime and remain in a halt position. It doesn't glide forward, or tilt, or shift to a side when it stops. It simply stops.
