Evolures Popper Punch 80F Lure

The Evolures Punch 80F is small popper fighter, that started from a great idea, became a challenge and came to life as a Popper, similar to none in the international market.

This is a lure full of unique features, starting from the perfect balance, swimming action and casting ability. Best of all, the Evolures Punch has a unique design, similar to none in the market. Most of the designers use and adopt a round lure tail to have easier air drag, better lure lifting in the air and easier weight placement in the lure’s tail. Evolures ignored those lure engineering standards, to avoid ending up with “another popper” and started from square one to make a better one.

The first thing they did, was to flatten and widen the lure’s body and design a V-Shape keel. What this offers to the lure, as it is casted into the air, is a V–Shape keel that works as wings and offer flight stability and more stable swimming action. When in the water it works like a boat’s keel.

The designers of Evolures needed the lure to glide in the air, when casting the lure, so the idea of the “bone fish belly” came up. They designed an excellent “bone fish belly”, well shaped to help the lure “glide” in the air and this friction leads the lure to an even longer casting distance. The Evolures Punch is probably the heaviest popper for its size, in the market.

One will also notice that the Punch 80F mouth cavity is wider than ordinary, to match the width of the lure’s body. Normally, you would find this size of mouth cavity in bigger size poppers. With the Evolures Punch the amount of water collected in the mouth of an 8 cm popper allows the angler to produce low splashing activity, or hard popping and splashing, depending on the conditions. You will be amazed with the great popping action and the impressive splashing of water action, due to the big mouth and shape of lure. Yes, it also looks like a squid, but you can use it in fresh water for pike, because it also looks like a frog. You can pop it, splash it, dive it, or you can retrieve it slowly. Because of its the unique design the Punch will leave a nice trail on the surface, that will attract predators.

Ordinary 80mm poppers they are coming with figure 8 joint connectors, strong enough but not the best solution to battle a big fish. Punch 80mm is coming up with quality grade of steel wire and is full wired through the lure’s body, plus it is armed and loaded with Decoy treble hooks YS21 size # 2 and split ring size # 3.

The ideal match to the Evolures Punch Popper 80F is a 3 mt long Spinning rod, with Casting Weight between 15 and 40 gr and a high gear reel. Chose a braided line of P.E. 0.8 to max P.E. 1.5 depending on the species you are going after and how far you want to cast the lure. The thinner the line, the further the cast. As per the Fluorocarbon leader, a width between 0.33 mm to 0.43mm is enough to get the job done.
