The black edition, of an iconic Opinel knife.
The black edition, of an iconic No8 Opinel knife.
When you’ve been making pocket knives for as long as Opinel, pretty much any new release is noteworthy. But this latest edition of one of Opinel's most popular models, the No.8 Black Oak folding knife, is an exceptionally beautiful take on a classic.
With the same legendary silhouette as the standard No.8, this special edition is made with a sturdy oak wood handle (harvested from the forests of France) and mated to a black-finished Sandvik steel blade and the brand’s signature Virobloc safety ring. But, the matte black finish is more than just for looks – it also means that this knife is corrosion-proof, as well.

- The knife also includes the Virobloc dual safety ring, made in stainless steel with a specific treatment which increase the durability and protect against the corrosion.
- Blade Length: 8.5 cm.
- Size: Νο. 8
- Available in paper package.
- Product Code: 002172
Cleaning
With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing (this is not necessary for plastic handles).
Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
