Ima Sasuke SS-50 Lures

The Sasuke name is no stranger to the Ima lures family. It is a brand name associated with quality and performance. So, one of the most successful lures in the IMA range, just shrunk and became a 50mm LRF bait. The size is mini in size, but the thrill of catching predators, just skyrocketed.

The 50mm sized Sasuke SS-50 is at 5 cm of length and just 1.5 gr. In many ways it resembles the other, lilliputian creation of Japanese IMA, the Sasuke SF-50, which has created its own legacy in Mediterranean waters. One of the basic differences is the replacement by IMA designers of the Single Assist Hooks, with size #16 Treble Hooks.

At these sizes and weights, the balance of a lure is such a delicate issue that even the slightest change can produce a new status and in the case of the Sasuke SS-50 this is obvious. To become a sinking lure, IMA increased the weight of the Sasuke just by 0.2 g, to become a sinking, lipless lure, ideal for Light and Ultra Light Rock fishing techniques. The Sasuke 50S will sink and look for every slit and every rock that White Seabreams lurk, forcing them to attack, with its irregular, irritating movement. To that end result, the non-stop rattling sound, of the three constantly moving tungsten balls, also helps.

Try a simple, steady retrieve and the Sasuke SS-50 will move in a slalom motion, with wobbling. But its strong point is that when you work it with twitching, as the Sasuke lure will pass nervously and non-stop through all the points indicated by the rod’s action, highlighting the flashes it produces, as it flirts with sunlight.
