Daiwa Caldia MQ LT Reels

Zaion V is the secret behind the amazing Daiwa Caldia MQ LT reel. The birth of the next generation of Caldia reels, which have been greatly improved in rigidity, strength and rotational durability, by enclosing a huge drive gear in a monocoque body, has been based on the adoption of a new material, called Zaion V.

The Daiwa Caldia MQ LT 3000 CXH is a flexible model, that can handle various fishing styles such as Eging, Seabass fishing and various lake and river water styles.

Daiwa achieved the development of a 2500 reel, that includes in only 200 gr, its own weight, the air rotor and a large diameter, tough digital gear and at the same time it realizes "Light and Smooth rotation".

The body and the rotor of the Daiwa MQ LT is made of Zaion V ("V" is for Versatile), a Carbon-containing Hybrid Resin, a new material that is lightweight and highly durable, achieving both lightness and strength. By precisely controlling the amount of hybrid carbon, it is possible to achieve lightness surpassing metal and high rigidity.

Zaion V – Monocoque Body. The Zaion V is the fourth material - after magnesium, aluminum and Zaion – to be used in the construction of Monocoque body. The maximum diameter Tough Digigear (approximately 7% larger diameter) is enclosed in a lightweight compact housing.

The Daiwa Caldia MQ LT reels are equipped with a super lightweight Zaion V Air Rotor, to achieve light unwinding rotation and high rigidity.

The Monocoqeu Body technology achieves two things in a Daiwa spinning reel; to be both compact and robust. The Monocoque technology removes from the reel’s body unnecessary material. This is one of the most exciting technology in the spinning reel game. The Daiwa Monocoque body, an one-piece frame - eliminating the use of traditional two-piece Body & Sideplate construction. A single piece body utilizes a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed gear box. The elimination of the side plate also has also allowed for a more compact body design as well as room for a larger gear compared to standard reel frame designs. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact. Screws need material to grip to, and that means more overall size and more mass in traditional body designs. By replacing the side plate with a machined aluminum engine plate which screws directly into the reel body, MQ reels can maximize the internal space made available by using larger size drive gears than before. On top of the  weather resistance added from the MQ Technology, these reels also feature a rubber seal system for the ultimate protection from the elements.

The Daiwa Light & Tough technology is all about commitment to a thorough weight reduction, down to the details such as body, spool and handle. The LT technology is a new standard for Daiwa Spinning reels, that was born by evolving the gear that is the heart of the reel and the material of the body that wraps around it, into a tougher one.

By now, you must have heard the Magsealed technology in Daiwa reels. It is a waterproof wall that shuts out the intrusion of seawater and dust, by creating a wall of magnetic oil, in the gap between the body and rotor. Since the body and rotor are non-contact, the initial rotation performance is maintained for a long time while maintaining light and smooth rotation. Many of the causes of rotation noise are due to the intrusion of salt, dust, or and foreign matter. The rotation noise in reels that carry the Magsealed lubricant, is greatly reduced.

The drive gear is the most important part in the reel, and there is a trinity of elements that are essential for it to function. The drive gear used in the Daiwa Exist is the Tough Digigear, a further evolution of the preceding Digigear II. This represents a brand new design concept that calculates minute details down to the impact on gear meshing of the application of unexpected forces. By applying ultraprecise machine cutting to materials strengthened through cold-sintering, we achieve the ideal type of gear. These gears enable utterly noiseless winding rotation and respond precisely to the angler’s delicate finger touch. For the gear materials, extra super Duralumin is used for its high tensile strength and durability. These three elements combine to achieve the Tough Digigear, offering high-level winding precision and rotation durability without even the slightest error. The Tough Digigear is an evolution of reel sensitivity and of fishing itself.

The ATD is a new generation drag system, that operates smoothly according to the fighting strength of the fish and continues to work smoothly during the fight, allowing the angler to concentrate on fighting, without worrying about drag settings. The Caldia MQ LT has carbon drag washers, with improved Max drag force and the ability to withstand the sprinting of large fish. In addition, a large drag knob is used to achieve comfort.

The LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool, aims to ​​reduce the contact resistance of ABSII, it achieves smoother line release by making the contact point protrude forward. It becomes difficult for the line to ride on the ring and the casting distance has increased, compared to the conventional ABSII, improving trouble-free performance.

A perfect line stopper, with a new shape, to support thin PE braids, as well as thicker ones, such as leaders. The horizontally long setting structure achieves space saving in the vertical direction and contributes to the overall weight reduction of the spool.

Daiwa removed the anti-reverse switch, thus the body structure has been simplified. The decision to remove the anti-reverse switch, which is the path for water and foreign matter to enter, not only reduces weight and improves waterproof performance, but also prevents sudden troubles in the severe environment required for the Caldia series, especially when interacting with large prey.
