The Opinel N°12 with serrated blade is a simple to use and effective folding knife. This serrated-bladed knife is perfect for slicing bread and cutting large fruits and vegetables.

Features a varnished beech handle and a 12 cm serrated blade, made from 12C27M stainless steel, this pocket knife is the ideal utensil to use both in the kitchen and outside in the open air. At sea, in the mountains, or in the forest, the N°12 Serrated makes it easy to prepare food quickly and efficiently, even in the great outdoors.

Stainless Steel Sandvik 12C27

Opinel uses Sandvik 12C27, modified stainless steel for its knives. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge. Blade hardness is 57-58 HRC

Handle

Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. From France, our beech is hard, durable and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color varies from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of numerous small dark dashes.

Virobloc

The Safety Ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives, from the N° 06 size. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).

Cleaning

With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing (this is not necessary for plastic handles).

Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
