Savage Gear Panic Prey V2

Panic Prey is now on Volume 2. Savage Gear designed a new concept for the Panic Prey, derived from a small anchovy. It has been developed to make incredibly long casts and to be as noisy as it can get, during the retrieve. The rattling sound it produces contributes to that. Ιt’s figure might remind us of a classic Walk the Dog lure, but if we examine its front part closely, we’ll notice that the front part has been cut, just like a popper bait. In fact, it is more than that, as the cut has been made to splash even more water.

Therefore, the Savage Gear Panic Prey V2 is both a Walk the Dog lure and a Popper. This hybrid lure can perform both this suggestive right and left WTD motion, but at the same time it splashes and spits water to all directions, thus very vividly resembling what its name implies: a panicked baitfish, fleeing on the surface.

Additionally, Savage Gear equipped the Panic Prey internally with stripes that reflect even the slightest sunlight towards all directions. Externally, it has been reinforced with extra durable, anti-corrosive, salt water treble hooks and it’s finishing will remain intact even after extensive usage.

This the second volume of the highly acclaimed Panic Prey, that boasts a score of fishes all around the globe. It is available in two sizes, one of 15 cm and 16 gr and a second of 13.5 cm and 28 gr.

Ways to WtD and Pop

The Savage Gear Panic Prey, being a hybrid top water lure, gives us the opportunity to take advantage of the virtues of both categories. Thus, it can be used in various ways, as a true fishing multi-tool. Try the classic Walk the Dog retrieve with slight, continuous jerks, while quickly working your reel and you will unlock its WTD + Popper potential.

A finely tuned, zig-zag motion, plus the spitting and the internal, rattling sound, will leave a very distinctive trail for hungry predators to follow.

Try an alternative “Popping” retrieve: suddenly twitch the rod and reel hard, then give it a pause. The lure will plunge into the water and will subsequently surface. Perform the same sequence two, or three times for less actively feeding fish in the colder months of the year.

Perform long twiches with the Panic Prey, long jerk it and retrieve it. Sharply make it dance on the surface, or add your own ideas and the lure will respond to all. Create your own “choreography” with this unique lure that combines the most successful top water lure types into one body. The smaller model is ideal for various prey such as Seabass and Saddled Sea Bream, while the larger one aims at Pelagic fish, such as Mahi-Mahi, Bluefish, Leerfish, Amberjacks and Barracudas.
