The long-awaited SW series for the Daiwa Caldia, is available, built with a monocoque body.

Equipped with a large-diameter, tough digital gear on a full metal (aluminum) monocoque body, the Daiwa Caldia SW is powerful and light.

The Caldia SW is available in sizes (4000 / 5000 / 6000) that cover the full scale of the Mediterranean Spinning and Shore Jigging game.

The Monocoqeu Body technology achieves two things in a Daiwa spinning reel; to be both compact and robust. The Monocoque technology removes from the reel’s body unnecessary material. This is one of the most exciting technology in the spinning reel game. The Daiwa Monocoque body, an one-piece frame - eliminating the use of traditional two-piece Body & Sideplate construction. A single piece body utilizes a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed gear box. The elimination of the side plate also has also allowed for a more compact body design as well as room for a larger gear compared to standard reel frame designs. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact. Screws need material to grip to, and that means more overall size and more mass in traditional body designs. By replacing the side plate with a machined aluminium engine plate which screws directly into the reel body, MQ reels can maximise the internal space made available by using larger size drive gears than before. On top of the  weather resistance added from the MQ Technology, these reels also feature a rubber seal system for the ultimate protection from the elements.

By now, you must have heard the Magsealed technology in Daiwa reels. It is a waterproof wall that shuts out the intrusion of seawater and dust, by creating a wall of magnetic oil, in the gap between the body and rotor. Since the body and rotor are non-contact, the initial rotation performance is maintained for a long time while maintaining light and smooth rotation. Many of the causes of rotation noise are due to the intrusion of salt, dust, or and foreign matter. The rotation noise in reels that carry the Magsealed lubricant, is greatly reduced.

The ATD is a new generation drag system, that operates smoothly according to the fighting strength of the fish and continues to work smoothly during the fight, allowing the angler to concentrate on fighting, without worrying about drag settings. The Caldia SW has carbon drag washers, with improved Max drag force and the ability to withstand the sprinting of large fish. In addition, a large drag knob is used to achieve comfort.

The Drive Gear, is the most important part of the reel and combines a trinity of elements (design concept, processing technology and gear material). The Daiwa Caldia SW carries the evolution of Digigear II that achieves smooth rotation for a longer period of time. Its design concept considers the impact caused by unexpected force. It is the ideal gear, finished with high strength. It achieves indefinitely noiseless rotation and accurately responds to the angler's delicate commands.

The Air Rotor technology includes a rotor structure, that should be called a rotor revolution. In the Caldia SW, Daiwa has achieved a significant weight reduction, with the same strength. The rotor balance is also significantly improved.

The LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool, aims to reduce the contact resistance of ABSII, it achieves smoother line release by making the contact point protrude forward. It becomes difficult for the line to ride on the ring and the casting distance has increased, compared to the conventional ABSII, improving trouble-free performance.

The Handle Knob for sizes 4000 – 6000 is an EVA round type, power light knob.

The shape of the Air Bail allows the braid to flow to the line roller and reduces braid entanglement problems. Furthermore, by making it hollow, Daiwa has accomplished a significant increase in strength without changing the weight. A mechanism applies a brake to the rotation of the rotor, when the bail is opened and prevents unexpected bail return caused by the shock of casting. In the 6000 size, the Bail Arm has to be returned to its original position, manually.

Finally, the Caldia spool comes with a reference line for lesser winding. If you do not have enough braid, wind the thread down to the standard line.

A Line Stopper has been installed in the models 4000 – 6000 that holds thin PE braids, as well as thick leaders.

The 4000-CXH model is recommended for Light Shore Casting games, using PE1 and Light Offshore Jigging Games, combined with Slow Jigging and Light Jigging rods.

The 5000D-CXH model is intended for Light Shore Casting fishing, that use PE1.5 to PE2.

The 6000D-H reel is for anglers practicing Shore Jigging using PE3, or Casting. It is a reel that combines power and lightness, ideal for targets up to around 5kg.

For Offshore Jigging, Offshore Casting and Heavy Shore Jigging, using PE3 to PE4, is the 8000-H model. This is the recommended size for 10kg fish in water depths of over 50m.
