The most striking technology carried on the Superior is the Salt Shield™ Bearings, with the water repellent coating applied inside and outside the bearings’ surface. In this experiment both types of ball bearings were immersed in test salt water with a salinity concentration of 5.5%, for 4 days and left until the water dried and disappeared.
